Gaya Bio, an agricultural company that develops eco-friendly livestock food using microorganisms and natural materials, has been selected as one of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs‘ 'A-Ventures'.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MOLFA) announced on Nov. 28 that it has selected agricultural company GayaBio as its A-Ventures Company of the Month.

A-Ventures is selected by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to recognize outstanding ventures and startups as ‘Avengers" who will lead the Agri Venture and agri-food industry.

GayaBio is a startup that develops and sells eco-friendly functional feeds that reduce livestock odors, greenhouse gas emissions, and antibiotic use by utilizing its own patented technologies such as microorganisms and natural materials, as well as feeds that can manufacture omega-3-enhanced health functional livestock foods.

The low-methane feed developed by GayaBio is a feed that combines natural substances with methane-reducing effects, and when consumed by ruminants such as beef cattle and dairy cows, it has the effect of reducing methane gas generation by about 581 TP3T.

In addition, the probiotic-based antibiotic-odor-reducing feed is a functional feed that inhibits harmful bacteria in the intestines of livestock and controls odor-causing microorganisms, and has been patented for its effectiveness in reducing the use of antibiotics and reducing odor.

Based on its technology, Gayabio has been increasing its sales by 30 to 401 TP3T every year. This year, the company signed a supply contract with a major domestic feed company and established its own manufacturing plant to continue expanding its business.

“We plan to supply scientifically verified functional feeds at reasonable prices from the second half of this year, and enter the overseas market with K-feed along with the establishment of our own manufacturing plant,” said Kim Hee-gyeom, CEO of Gaya Bio. “We will position ourselves as an environmental, social, and transparent management (ESG) company in the livestock sector that pursues the social values of carbon neutrality, health, and ethics.”.
