‘CAC 2024’ heats up overseas expansion of Korean agricultural products

Korea's agricultural input companies are trying to solve the stagnant domestic demand and overheated competition by developing exports. At the 24th China International Agrochemical & Crop Protection Exhibition (CAC), held in Shanghai, China, from March 13-15, 16 domestic agricultural input companies participated in the exhibition and met with buyers from around the world.

‘The CAC, held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), featured booths from more than 1,500 companies from 30 countries, and attracted more than 40,000 professional-level visitors from more than 120 countries, according to the CAC organizers. The Korea Pavilion, which included 10 Korean companies, and Australia were among the countries that participated.

In the CAC exhibition hall, there were a total of six vast areas, including Hall 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 7.1, and 8.1, with large and small counseling booths, and the ‘Korea Pavilion‘ was located in Hall 8.1. There was also an ’Australia Pavilion‘, but more visitors were interested in the 'Korea Pavilion'.

Gaiabio-.Promote K-feed, including low-methane ‘green up

Gaya Bio (CEO Kim Hee-gyeom) is a sprout company that develops and sells eco-friendly functional feeds that reduce livestock odors, greenhouse gas emissions, and antibiotic use by utilizing its own patented technologies such as microorganisms and natural materials, and feeds that can manufacture omega-3-enhanced health functional livestock foods. It was selected as the 50th A-Ventures company discovered by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs last year.

The low-methane feed developed by GayaBio is a feed that combines natural substances with methane-reducing effects and has the effect of reducing methane gas generation by about 581 TP3T when consumed by ruminants such as beef cattle and dairy cows.

The company exported functional feed to Vietnam and signed an agreement with a poultry company in Shandong Province, China, to export its antibiotic-free feed technology.

At the show, low-methane feed ‘Green Up,’ odor-reducing feed ‘Clean Up,’ antibiotic-reducing feed ‘Power Up,’ and omega-3-enriched feed ‘Lintex’ generated interest.

“Although China is still passive in its greenhouse gas reduction policies, there is a growing awareness of eco-friendly livestock among private companies, and we are looking forward to the market that will develop in the future,” said Kim Hee-gyeom, CEO of Gaya Bio.
