GayaBio Pioneers Functional Feed Manufacturing Technology for ESG Livestock Farming, Paving the Way for Sustainable Livestock Farming
Nonghyup Bank (CEO Lee Seok-yong) has taken an active role in supporting the discovery and growth of agri-food startups that will lead the future of agriculture. On the 25th, Nonghyup Bank held an ‘Ag-Food Tech Investor Relations’ (IR-Investor Relations) event in collaboration with the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency at the Nonghyup Central Headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul. IR is an activity that helps companies attract investment by explaining their business situation, vision, and growth potential to investors.
The event was organized to strengthen the connection between agri-food startups and investors and to revitalize the startup ecosystem in the agri-food sector. Startups participating in the event had the opportunity to introduce their technologies and business models to investors and resolve funding difficulties. “The capital market is facing difficulties due to sluggish domestic demand and high interest rates,” said Ahn Ho-geun, head of the Nonghyun Institute, in his remarks. “The development of agriculture-related front and backyard industries can lead to an increase in farmers” incomes.".
The event featured nine innovative startups that were selected through a first round of screening by Nongjin Research Institute and a second round of screening by Nonghyup Bank. These companies attracted the attention of investors by presenting original ideas that fuse agriculture and advanced technology. ‘Gaya Bio' has presented the possibility of sustainable livestock farming with functional feed manufacturing technology that considers ESG (environment, society, and governance). The event was attended by Nonghyup Bank, Nonghyup Central Association, Nonghyup Economic Holdings, NH Investment & Securities, NH Venture Investment, Nonghyup Mokwoo Village, and other affiliates of Nonghyup, as well as major investors such as the Agricultural Policy Insurance and Finance Agency, Nice Investment, and GS Retail. After the startup presentations, the investors discussed cooperation plans with each company during the networking time, adding to the meaningfulness of the event.
